Thank you for taking the time to visit this page! My name is Hunter Timms and I am a candidate in the Town of Haughton's Mayoral race for 2024. As such, I could not be more excited to share with you some personal history about myself and why I'm the right choice for Haughton this election.
Our town is at a pivotal moment in its history, and I believe that together, we can shape a future that honors our rich heritage while embracing growth and progress. I am running for mayor because I am passionate about Haughton and its potential. My commitment to this community is unwavering, and I have always believed in the power of unity and collaborative effort. As your mayor, I will bring fresh leadership, grounded in transparency, accountability, and a genuine desire to serve every resident of our beloved town.
I married my beautiful wife, Kasey, in 2019, and we are blessed with two amazing children: Cameron, who is 4 years old, and Colsen, who is 1 year old. They are the driving force behind my dedication to building a better Haughton for their future and for all families in our community.
I’m a graduate of Parkway High School in South Bossier. After graduating, I was given an opportunity to complete a lifelong dream of becoming a police officer by being hired by the Bossier City Police Department. The experience, skills, and personal enjoyment of the job were invaluable. After starting a family, I made the difficult decision to hang up the gun and badge.
After concluding my law enforcement career, I transitioned into banking as a commercial loan officer and obtained my real estate license. I also began a small business in real estate, which subsequently has given me first hand knowledge of fiscal responsibility and the importance of managing resources effectively for long-term success.
Additionally, I take great pride in my service to our country for serving in United States Army National Guard from 2017 until 2023. During that time, invaluable leadership skills were obtained, as well as high-stress skills during my combat deployment to Iraq. As we embark on this journey together, I invite you to join me in creating a Haughton that is thriving, secure, and forward-thinking. Your support and participation is crucial, and I am eager to hear your ideas, address your concerns, and work alongside you to make our vision a reality.
